Deikkon

Definition

Dikkon was born as a business dedicated to “translating” the business & investment language to one that their clients could understand, accompanying the in each moment so that the steps they took and the decisions made were the best ones possible for their professional interests.

This project, in addition to the identity, corporate materials, and web, I also worked on the naming, as the client only had the idea clear.

The name

Diekkon comes from the Indoeuropean root deik – which means to indicate or point out, and which is the base of any translation: if you want to know how to call something concrete in a language you don’t know – a cup, a pen, – you point out the object and say how you pronounce it in your language hoping that your interlocutor (who speaks the unfamiliar language) pronounces the term that defines the object.

This also served to define part of the symbol, as it resembles a hand pointing, while in conjunction with the blank space of the D suggests an exchange, an interpretive “dialogue”.

Development and applications

These are some of the pieces created for the project.
